R1 Ceramic – Cure Time Instructions
Cure Time Details
R1 Nano Ceramic Coating – LuxeArt Professional Application
Your vehicle has been professionally coated with R1 Nano Ceramic – a high-performance coating designed to bond to paint, glass, wheels, vinyl wrap, and trim. Although the coating is applied and flash-cured, it will continue to harden over the next several days.
General Cure Timeline:
- Initial Surface Set: 4–8 hours (vehicle can be gently driven)
- Full Chemical Cure: 5–7 days under ideal conditions (70–85°F)
- Cold Weather Cure: May extend to 7–10 days (below 60°F or high humidity)
Surface-Specific Notes:
Painted Panels (Body):
- Avoid moisture for the first 24 hours
- No washing, touching, or wiping for 7 full days
Glass:
- Do NOT roll windows or use wipers for at least 24 hours
- Wipers may streak slightly for the first few uses – this will settle
Wheels:
- Avoid brake dust build-up and do not use wheel cleaners for 7 days
- If you must drive, lightly rinse and dry with a microfiber towel
Vinyl Wrap & PPF (If coated):
- Coating enhances hydrophobic effect but may take longer to cure over film
- Avoid pressure or wiping for at least 5 days, no sealants for 30 days
Trim & Plastics:
- Do not touch, dress, or wipe for 7 days
- Coating will continue to darken and settle over textured surfaces during cure
Cure Rules:
- NO water, rain, or sprays for 24 hours
- NO washing or wiping for 7 days
- NO waxes, sealants, or detail sprays for 30 days
If water contacts the surface during the cure window, gently blot dry – do NOT rub or wipe.
What You Can & Can’t Do During Cure
Applies to all R1-coated surfaces: paint, wheels, glass, trim, and wrap
To protect the integrity of your R1 Nano Ceramic coating, follow these instructions closely during the curing phase:
DO NOT:
- Do NOT wash or rinse the vehicle for at least 7 days
- Do NOT wipe, buff, or apply any products to the coating during cure
- Do NOT use windshield wipers (if glass was coated) for the first 24 hours
- Do NOT use brake dust removers or wheel cleaners (if wheels were coated)
- Do NOT apply tire shine, trim dressing, or quick detail sprays
- Do NOT park under trees, sprinklers, or near construction zones
YOU MAY:
- Drive the vehicle after the first 4–8 hours of indoor curing (we’ll confirm when it’s safe)
- Park indoors or in direct sun – sunlight will help the coating bond
- Gently blot away water or dew with a clean microfiber if it contacts the surface within the first 24 hours (no rubbing)
If Something Happens:
If you accidentally get rain, sprinkler spots, or bird droppings during the first 7 days:
- Do NOT wipe it
- Take a photo and contact LuxeArt
- We’ll advise you if a follow-up wipe-down or inspection is needed – we got you
Aftercare & Maintenance
Keep Your R1 Ceramic Coating Looking Like Day One
Now that your coating has fully cured, the real key to performance is proper maintenance. Ceramic coatings are durable, but not bulletproof – routine care keeps the gloss, slickness, and hydrophobic power dialed all the way in.
Washing Guidelines:
- Wait 7 full days before washing
- Hand wash only using pH-neutral soap (no degreasers, citrus, or bug removers)
- Use the two-bucket method or foam cannon
- Dry with a soft microfiber towel – no chamois, squeegees, or abrasive cloths
What to Avoid:
- No automatic car washes (even touchless – they weaken ceramic)
- No petroleum-based detail sprays or waxes
- No spray coatings unless LuxeArt-approved
- No waterless washes unless labeled ceramic-safe
Protect Your Investment with LuxeArt Boost Services
Over time, exposure to sun, salt, brake dust, and road film reduces ceramic performance. To keep your vehicle protected and looking fresh, LuxeArt recommends a boost treatment every 6–12 months.
R1 Boost Treatment Includes:
- Decontamination foam wash
- Iron/fallout remover + surface prep
- Application of R1 Boost to paint, wheels, trim & glass (if coated)
